SIROCCO takes place in Old Matmata, a unique destination in southern Tunisia known for its spectacular lunar landscapes, Berber heritage, and iconic troglodyte architecture. The region offers a rare combination of dramatic desert terrain, rich history, and authentic cultural atmosphere, making it an exceptional setting for endurance racing.

Matmata is located approximately 500 km from Tunis, accessible by road and domestic transport links. To simplify travel logistics, SIROCCO provides organized transfers for riders and bicycles between Tunis and Matmata, allowing participants to enjoy a smooth and stress-free journey to the race venue.

Rider safety is supported by a comprehensive assistance system including trained volunteers, course marshals, safety vehicles, medical staff, and coordination with local Civil Defence services. All participants benefit from event insurance coverage, ensuring a secure and professionally managed race environment.

The course includes three strategically positioned aid and timing checkpoints, providing hydration, rider support, and performance monitoring. These stations ensure participants receive essential assistance while maintaining accurate race tracking and classification integrity.
